Safe operation of crawler crane

Release time:2025-12-20 Visit:76

(1) The crane should operate, travel, and park on a flat and solid ground. During normal operation, the slope should not exceed 3 degrees, and a safe distance should be maintained from ditches and foundation pits.

(2) The key inspection items for crane startup shall meet the following requirements:

  1) All safety protection devices and indicating instruments are safe and intact;

  2) The steel wire rope and its connecting parts comply with the regulations;

  3) Add sufficient fuel, lubricating oil, hydraulic oil, cooling water, etc;

  4) All connecting pieces are not loose.

(3) Before starting the crane, the main clutch should be disengaged, all control levers should be placed in neutral position, and the internal combustion engine should be started according to regulations.

(4) During operation, the maximum elevation angle of the crane boom must not exceed the factory-specified value. When no such information is available, it must not exceed 78 degrees.

(5) When the lifting load reaches 90% or more of the rated lifting capacity, the lifting and lowering actions should be performed slowly, and it is strictly prohibited to perform two or more actions simultaneously.

(6) When conducting dual-crane lifting operations, it is necessary to select cranes with similar lifting performance. During lifting, unified command should be given, and movements should be coordinated. The load distribution should be reasonable, and the lifting load of a single crane should not exceed 80% of the allowable load. During the lifting process, the hook pulley blocks of the two cranes should be kept in a vertical state.

(7) When the crane needs to travel with a load, the load must not exceed 70% of the allowable lifting capacity. The travel path should be solid and level, and the heavy object should be positioned directly in front of the crane. The heavy object should not be more than 500mm above the ground, and the rope should be securely fastened, ensuring slow travel. Long-distance travel with a load is strictly prohibited.

(8) When the crane is traveling, it should not make sharp turns; when the turning radius is too small, it should make turns in stages; and when the road surface is uneven, it must not make turns.

(9) The crane should travel without load when going up and down the ramp. When going up, the boom elevation angle should be appropriately reduced, and when going down, the boom elevation angle should be appropriately increased. It is strictly prohibited to coast downhill in neutral gear.
